Here at G-Step we are focused on promoting all things sustainable. Especially sustainable and renewable energy. We provide help and advice in how to change your lifestyle to help save the environment.
Our latest experiment was to find out the relationship between a person’s behaviour and emotion in relation to their surroundings in and around the workplace. We worked but a financial company who had an outdoors space allocated to their building but it was not used and had no facilities meaning that the employees could not use it as a break space.
Our team transformed the outdoor area into a green space filled with tables, benches, shelters and greenery. What we were focusing on mainly was the amount of greenery in the area; we work with a company who provided us with custom, fibreglass GRP planters which came in a variety of sizes and colours.
In the centre of the green area we has brightly colours GRP planters and around the edges were planters with timber and stone colour schemes to make them appear more natural. This would be a big part of our study to see where people were more inclined to sit.
By providing this new and open space for employees to break we want to study how it affects their work ethic and quality, their mood and their levels of tiredness. We will feedback to you once this study has been completed.
